The mission of 516 ARTS is to connect contemporary artists and diverse audiences. In these times of social distancing, we are sharing artwork and inspiration that can help us learn, feel, think, and process through this new reality of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first artist we selected is Rebecca Horn, and her work that talks of bodies, spaces, and distancing through performances and sculptural body extensions.
Horn was born in Germany in 1944, and lived much of her life in the former West Berlin. She started her career in the 1970s with performances as “Body Extensions” to “explore the equilibrium between body and space”.
